Kaplicky Creative Centre, based in the rondocubist jewel of Villa Čerych, is the perfect place to inspire enthusiasts, professionals and students alike. Through residential masterclasses, seminars and conferences led by internationally renowned experts, it provides a stimulating environment where creative talent can be discovered, nurtured and fully developed.

Villa Čerych
Villa Čerych is not only a beautiful historic landmark with a breathtaking garden, but above all a place of immense creative potential. This unique Art Deco and Rondocubist building, designed by the renowned architect Otakar Novotný and enriched by the painted elements of František Kysela, decorative details by Jaroslav Horejc, and the garden design of Josef Kumpán, offers the ideal setting for something truly exceptional to emerge.
This architectural gem was also chosen by Václav Havel himself as the filming location for his final work, the feature film Leaving (2011). For many years, however, the villa waited for a new impulse, which finally came with the visionary idea of Kaplicky Centre in 2022.

HOW TO GET HERE
From Prague, you can reach us in just one hour via the D11 highway, whether you choose to drive or take a comfortable direct train to Česká Skalice. For participants in our masterclasses, a villa shuttle service is also included, taking you directly to Villa Čerych. Your journey begins as smoothly and inspiringly as the programme itself at Kaplicky Creative Centre.
By car
From Prague, take the D11 highway towards Hradec Králové / Jaroměř, then follow the exit for Náchod / Česká Skalice. The journey takes around one hour. Continue along Road 33 to Česká Skalice, where Villa Čerych is located at Křenkova 477. Guests can enjoy complimentary parking directly within the villa grounds.
By train
From Prague, board a train to Trutnov / Hradec Králové (R10 line or other services running via Jaroměř), and after approximately 2 hours and 10–20 minutes you will arrive at Česká Skalice station. Once you step off the train, our villa shuttle will be waiting to take you comfortably directly to the entrance of Kaplicky Creative Centre at Villa Čerych.

For all guests arriving by train or by car, complimentary villa shuttle service is included in the masterclass fee, taking you from the station or a pre-arranged pickup point directly to the gates of Villa Čerych. Our drivers will meet you on time, help with your belongings, and bring you to the venue in comfort and style. All you need to do is let us know your arrival time — we will take care of the rest.
